One of our favorite pastimes when visiting Orange Beach, Alabama is to walk the boardwalk to Perdido Pass and view the boats passing by. This painting shows a boat returning from the Gulf through Perdido Pass with the buildings of Orange Beach as a backdrop.
The original was painted on 18 by 14-inch watercolor paper.
I enjoy painting with a variety of bold colors, values, and textures to attract the viewer and hold their interest. I love the transparency of watercolor, which allows me to create numerous colorful varieties and effects. Primarily I paint on watercolor canvas, which enhances the brightness and color of my paintings. My subjects are landscapes, city scenes, and local attractions which highlight the traditions and relaxed lifestyle of South Alabama where I live, and scenes in Italy, the land of my ancestors. IMy paintings can be seen at the Cathedral Square Gallery in Mobile, Alabama where I am a resident artist and at several other locations in Alabama and Georgia.
